This beginner-friendly workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to better understand how cutting weights help cutting, cut out a pattern using them, and gain confidence sewing patterns together. During this workshop, you'll learn: 🧵 Why fabric weights are an essential sewing tool ✂️ How fabric weights prevent fabric from shifting while cutting 📏 How accurate cutting leads to better-fitting pieces and easier sewing 📐 Tips for cutting fabric safely and efficiently and and how to use the ruler 🌿 How to sew and fill your own lavender fabric weights for everyday use 🧷 Basic sewing machine operation and safety This project is perfect for all sewists including beginners. Not only are they a sewing essential but also can be used to freshen drawers, closets, linen cupboards, vehicles, or simply enjoy the relaxing scent of lavender throughout your home. ✨ No sewing experience is required. All materials and supplies for this class are provided, and our instructor will guide you every step of the way. Machine Options: Bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours for free! What you need to bring: A pair of indoor shoes that fully cover your feet (no outdoor shoes or bear/sock feet) Leave with a beautiful handmade project—and the confidence for your future sewing adventures!

Cancellation Policy

- All class registrations are subject to the following policy: • Cancellations made 6 days or more before the workshop will receive a 50% refund. • Cancellations made less than 5 days before the scheduled class are non-refundable. • Missed classes, late arrivals, or early departures are not eligible for refunds or credits unless otherwise stated by The Sewing Machine Doctors. Other Policies: - Parking for sewing classes is available ONLY on 12th Street. Parking is NOT permitted in the driveway, across the street in the apartment parking area, or in the neighboring business center parking lot. Participants are responsible for following these parking requirements and applicable parking regulations. - For the safety and cleanliness of the classroom, all participants must bring and wear clean indoor shoes/hard sole slippers. Outdoor footwear and bear/socked feet are not permitted inside. Participants who arrive without appropriate indoor shoes may be refused entry without a refund. - If you are bringing your own sewing machine, it must be in good working order, recently serviced or otherwise confirmed to be operating properly, and tested before arriving to class. The instructor is not responsible for troubleshooting or repairing personal sewing machines during class time. If your machine is not suitable for the class or becomes inoperable, you will be required to rent a classroom sewing machine (if available) or you may be unable to participate. Regular class fees still apply.
