Add a little spooky style to your kitchen with this fun Bat Oven Mitt Workshop! In this class, you’ll create your own fully functional bat-shaped oven mitt while learning techniques for working with multiple layers, curves, and unique shapes. This project is a great way to build your sewing confidence while tackling something a little different from a traditional straight-seam project. During this workshop, you’ll learn how to: 🧵 Work with multiple layers of fabric, batting, and heat-resistant materials ✂️ Sew and navigate curves and unusual shapes 📏 Properly layer, pin/clip, and assemble your project 🦇 Create and attach the contrasting center detail 🔄 Turn, shape, and finish your project for a clean, professional look 🪡 Create and attach a hanging loop ✨ Learn helpful tips for achieving neat seams and even topstitching Sewing experience is recommended for this workshop. You should be comfortable operating a sewing machine and sewing basic seams. 🎃 All fabric, heat-resistant materials, and supplies are included. Bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours free! Cancellation Policy
- All class registrations are subject to the following policy: • Cancellations made 6 days or more before the workshop will receive a 50% refund. • Cancellations made less than 5 days before the scheduled class are non-refundable. • Missed classes, late arrivals, or early departures are not eligible for refunds or credits unless otherwise stated by The Sewing Machine Doctors. Other Policies: - Parking for sewing classes is available ONLY on 12th Street. Parking is NOT permitted in the driveway, across the street in the apartment parking area, or in the neighboring business center parking lot. Participants are responsible for following these parking requirements and applicable parking regulations. - For the safety and cleanliness of the classroom, all participants must bring and wear clean indoor shoes/hard sole slippers. Outdoor footwear and bear/socked feet are not permitted inside. Participants who arrive without appropriate indoor shoes may be refused entry without a refund. - If you are bringing your own sewing machine, it must be in good working order, recently serviced or otherwise confirmed to be operating properly, and tested before arriving to class. The instructor is not responsible for troubleshooting or repairing personal sewing machines during class time. If your machine is not suitable for the class or becomes inoperable, you will be required to rent a classroom sewing machine (if available) or you may be unable to participate. Regular class fees still apply.
