Does your child or teen want to learn how to sew? Or maybe they're bursting with creativity but don't know where to start? We've got the perfect place for them! ๐โจ Welcome to Stitch by Stitch: Youth Sewing Academy, a fun, hands-on 10-week sewing adventure designed especially for young makers ages 9โ18! Whether they've never touched a sewing machine or are just starting to explore sewing, our academy is all about building confidence, learning real skills, making new friends, and having SEW much fun along the way! โ๏ธ What Will Students Learn? Throughout our 10 weeks together, students will learn: - How to safely operate and care for a sewing machine. - Threading, bobbin winding, stitching, and sewing fundamentals. - Measuring, cutting fabric, and understanding seam allowances. - Working with different fabrics and sewing techniques. - Following instructions, solving problems, and building independence. - Creating beautiful, practical projects they can proudly say, "I MADE THAT!" ๐ What Will We Create? Each project builds on skills learned in previous weeks, giving students the opportunity to see just how far they've come! Projects include: Bookmark, Scrunchies, Notebook Pen Holder, Tote Bag, Zipper Pencil Pouche, Pajama Short, and a special Student Choice Final Project! ๐ Course Details Duration: 10 weeks โ one 2-hour workshop per week Ages: 9โ18 Experience: Absolute beginners welcome! Everything Included: All fabrics, materials, supplies, and use of our sewing machines! Small Workshop Sizes: Maximum 4 students for plenty of individual guidance and encouragement. ๐ Special Introductory Price! $449 for the entire 10-week academy! Regular Price: $499 20 hours of hands-on sewing instruction, all materials included, and a collection of handmade creations to take home! ๐ Why Choose Our Youth Sewing Academy? It's about creativity, patience, problem-solving, independence, and that incredible feeling of making something with your own two hands! Our relaxed, encouraging environment allows every young maker to learn at their own pace, ask questions, make mistakes, laugh, and grow. Please bring indoor shoes. A parent or guardian must remain onsite for students under 12. Guardian consent is required for ages 12โ15. Cancellation Policy
- All class registrations are subject to the following policy: โข Cancellations made 6 days or more before the workshop will receive a 50% refund. โข Cancellations made less than 5 days before the scheduled class are non-refundable. โข Missed classes, late arrivals, or early departures are not eligible for refunds or credits unless otherwise stated by The Sewing Machine Doctors. Other Policies: - Parking for sewing classes is available ONLY on 12th Street. Parking is NOT permitted in the driveway, across the street in the apartment parking area, or in the neighboring business center parking lot. Participants are responsible for following these parking requirements and applicable parking regulations. - For the safety and cleanliness of the classroom, all participants must bring and wear clean indoor shoes/hard sole slippers. Outdoor footwear and bear/socked feet are not permitted inside. Participants who arrive without appropriate indoor shoes may be refused entry without a refund. - If you are bringing your own sewing machine, it must be in good working order, recently serviced or otherwise confirmed to be operating properly, and tested before arriving to class. The instructor is not responsible for troubleshooting or repairing personal sewing machines during class time. If your machine is not suitable for the class or becomes inoperable, you will be required to rent a classroom sewing machine (if available) or you may be unable to participate. Regular class fees still apply.
